(: Thanksgiving was a blast! We spent the day at different members homes, and just enjoyed looking at how other families interact with each other. We found 6 new investigators this week! We're so excited to teach them! One of them is SOO prepared. Her grandmother passed away a couple of months ago, and she was SUPER into religion.. and this girl doesn't even know if she has faith in God... but after we were leaving she said "This was nice! Not annoying, like it normally is. I like this, I can't wait for you to come back tomorrow!" (: And we can't wait to see her tonight!! She LOVES her family and so we KNOW that the Gospel of Jesus Christ will totally ring true in her heart.

Later this month there's a couple in our ward who will be getting Sealed! It is soo cool (: He has been a member for 6 years, and he had to quit a lot of things to join. Then he's been struggling, but getting back on track again. And then his daughter totally called him out and told him that he wasn't honoring his priesthood, so he got his act together so that his wife could be happy and that their family could be for FOREVER (: The thing I love most about this, is that he's not only making changes for now, HE'S REALLY COMMITTED TO THE COVENANTS HE WILL MAKE to God in the temple. He isn't just going to get sealed and jump off the bandwagon, he's determined that he will live true to it so that his daughter will think that he's a good person. And that's a life long journey (: People out here will do ANYTHING for their families, and most of the time it means they have to change for the better (: There's another husband who him and his wife aren't sealed, but he hasn't been worthy for a while. She's struggled too, but now she's staying firm... and so he is slowly starting to change, too! The other week he passed the sacrament!! (: It's the little things that make us the happiest! Living worthy EVERYDAY in the little things is what leads us to being happy in the BIG things!

(: Life is great!

Thanksgiving and Christmas in Milton!!!

I will be spending the holidays in Milton (: I'm way excited! Sis Brown and I will be having such a blast! We already have a ton of plans to meet with different members in the ward and to just HAVE A GOOD TIME. While doing the work, of course (:
This week we had so many "Milton Miracles!" We found 4 new investigators in 2 days! One is a Norse/Viking/Pagan something or another. It was soo funny because he was SO surprised that we were actually talking to him> Apparently when the elders came by a couple of months ago they literally ran off because he was wearing a Norse necklace and he has tattoos all over his body.  He started off by saying he wasn't really interested, but by the end of the conversation he was asking so many questions and saying "Y'all need to come back. I'm really interested in finding out more!" #PlanofSalvation

I really love serving here in the "Deep South" (: There's so much to learn! One of our new investigators is from Mexico! So I get to speak Spanglish with her (: It is the best!! She used to attend church EVERY week when she was in Dallas, but now that she is in Milton she didn't know where the church was... but now she does! She's planning on coming every week again (: She said that she knows the Book of Mormon is true and that for her the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints is God's church!

(: I love Milton.

Time Flies

Ohh my! Life is just so great here in Milton (: We have a baptismal date coming for a set of 9 year old twins, THEY'RE ADORABLE!! haha Their names are Dalton and Addie. They're both so smart and hyper.. but they actually retain what we teach them!

Life is just good. So I'm happy. Transfer calls are next week, and I REALLY want to stay. So we'll see (: haha. We went on exchanges with the sisters in Fairhope Alabama this week and one of the sisters goes home soon, and it's just sooo weird... because I've known her my whole mission! I feel like I keep working harder and harder and I FINALLY figure out how to do everything! and the time is so short now! It's amazing to see how the Lord will help you grow so much that you have a skewed concept  of time... but probably because our timing is different than God's.

I know that being on my mission is the BEST decision I have ever made. I'm super excited to be able to go home and continue living the gospel joyful! (:

Nov 9 Lot's of letters this week

This week was fantastic! I went to Tallahassee for a conference on Tuesday and Wednesday and I was able to see Sis McClellan again (:
Things are going really well in Milton. Sis Brown and I are finally working out how to work with the members better and we've been seeing tons of great miracles  because of it! We've been taking more time to get to know people, and they have become some perfect fellowshippers for the less actives and investigators we are working with! (:
Yesterday I gave a talk on scripture study, and as I studied for it I realized there are SO many benefits from reading your scriptures! It gives you a special peace that NOTHING from the world can give you! I am looking forward to working hard with Sis Brown and having soooo much fun (:
Love y'all!

This is her response to my letter about xmas gifts and such:
Yikes. The prices of the shirts are ridiculous. Definitely wait until you can find them cheaper. I'm good on skirts and treats... haha I'm kind of at the point on my mission where I'm trying to "down size" since I'll be going home and I can't take everything with me. I think just getting letters from people would make me the happiest.. and a chocolate orange. I have the stocking from last year, and yeah...
I could use some more deodorant! ha and black ponytail holders. And mom, if you could take time to go to the temple and take a picture outside of it with you and grandma... that'd be cool (: I don't really want much, and I'm not really in need of anything.. but if something comes up I'll let you know.

This is her response to Randy's letter:

Glad you're recovering pretty well from your surgery! Remember to keep resting! It will be worth it in the long run!
I miss sushi! The South doesn't have any good chineese/japanese restaurants... only some good Thai places, and those only exist in Fort Walton... haha. So I know what I'm eating when I get home!

I love serving out here, because there are so many people that remind me of people back at home (: I feel really blessed to be serving in this mission. Even though I might not always like the food, I always learn to love the people I"m working with.

Are you still doing scouts? What are your Christmas plans?
love you!

Happy Halloween

This week was GREAT! We were able to teach someone who literally said to us in the first lesson, "I just want to get baptized. I already know everything, I've been studying this for 2 years. When's the soonest I can get baptized?"
(: Haha so we set the date for January 9! Her and her new husband are super excited and can't wait to be sealed (he's already a member)! And we're teaching their 12 year old daughter now, too (:

It's so amazing to see the different growth that happens in an area when you're willing to obey the rules, even if it seems like a sacrifice.. "Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven." I love living the gospel standards!

I love being with Sis Brown! We found some cotton fields on Halloween(: It was so unexpected... and just made us beyond happy!

There is always so much to learn from Milton. I feel like I've been here for a month because of how much I've learned... when I've only been here a week! I'm very grateful to be here.

We were able to meet every single one of our goals this week(: I have a HUGE testimony of goals, now. When you're actively seeking to reach something, progress is made!!

An idea for Cooper: 30 minutes of exercise every day. There's a reason why we do it as missionaries, and it's because it allows us to let go of the stress we build up during the day. Cooper could go biking, jump roping, running, and lots of other things. Even just walking outside helps make my days 80% better. And maybe having him read the Book of Mormon... it's A PROMISE from God that as you read the Book of Mormon YOU WILL FIND YOUR PURPOSE in life. Cooper wants to escape because he doesn't feel like there's a point. Once he realizes there's value to his life, he'll start doing things to help him achieve that purpose. Remember how Jason would have to go door to door to meet different people and expand his social skills? Maybe you could have Cooper be responsible to go visit Betty once a week. Or find someone else who is in need of some help that he can do. If someone is relying on him, he'll feel a need to go and do things. He could start mowing someone's yard, just out of kindness. Not for money. He'll grow to love helping God's children, and he'll feel God's love for HIM.
